Bailiffgate Museum & Gallery
With a National Art Pass you get
10,000 years of unique Northumberland heritage are on display in this museum housed inside a refurbished church.
In the historic Castle Quarter of Alnwick, Bailiffgate?s unique church setting provides a dramatic backdrop to its extensive collection as there?s much to marvel at inside, such as original stained-glass windows and decorative interiors. Here you can explore the rich history of the market town, Alnwick and surrounding areas, particularly significant as a central point during years of conflict between Scotland and England.
Two floors are dedicated to a permanent collection of artefacts, documents, photographs and audio-visual content celebrating local history, while the third floor is used as an exhibition and events space, with a rolling programme of exhibitions taking place year-round. The museum also celebrates the abundance of arts and crafts created locally.
The more you see, the more we do.
The National Art Pass lets you enjoy free entry to hundreds of museums, galleries and historic places across the UK, while raising money to support them.
