Discover the influence of Pan-Africanism over the last century.
Project a Black Planet will examine how Pan-African ideas have shaped artistic and cultural expression from the 1920s to the present. Bringing together more than 300 works, it presents paintings, posters, installations, journals and film.
Spanning Africa, the Caribbean, Brazil, North America and Western Europe, it highlights contributions from artists such as Chris Ofili, Marlene Dumas and Kerry James Marshall. Rather than presenting Panafrica as a physical territory, the exhibition approaches it as a conceptual space shaped by imagination, debate and the collective drive towards liberation.
