Investigating identity, expression and the fluidity of gender across cultures
Step into a space that examines gender beyond traditional binaries, inviting reflection, curiosity and dialogue. Encounter works of art, artifacts and personal stories that reveal how gender intersects with identity, sexuality and culture across time.
The exhibition features contributions from celebrated artists including Grayson Perry, David Hockney and Catherine Opie. Through a mix of historical, contemporary and community perspectives, it encourages questions about how we understand and express gender, offering an inclusive, thought-provoking experience that celebrates the complexity and joy of identity.
Gender Stories has been created for the Museums and Galleries Network for Exhibition Touring, with Art Fund support.
