UK-born artist of Jamaican descent reflects on diaspora and cultural identity in major solo exhibition.
Tate Britain will present the first major solo exhibition of British artist Hurvin Anderson, bringing together more than 60 works spanning his entire career. Known for his colour-drenched landscapes and interiors, Anderson explores the experience of belonging and diaspora, moving between the UK and the Caribbean in both subject and memory.
Born in Birmingham as the first UK-born child of a Jamaican family, Anderson reflects on identity, heritage and the nuances of cultural memory through richly atmospheric compositions.
