On The Line: 100 years of strikes & solidarity

21 March - 22 November 2026
Free to all

Labour, protest and solidarity across a century of British industrial struggle

Explore 100 years of industrial struggle and collective power in Britain. From the 1926 General Strike to recent labour disputes, the exhibition highlights moments when workers stood together for rights, fair pay, and representation.

Encounter evocative photographs, banners, and objects from frontline strikes alongside rarely seen oil paintings that bring these pivotal moments to life. Stories of unity run throughout, from miners and migrant workers to women campaigning for equal pay. The display reveals the determination, hardship, and resilience that have shaped Britain’s labour movement over generations.
