What We Treasure: Art out of the archive

9 December 2025 - 6 June 2026

With a National Art Pass you get

Free entry and free exhibitions

Discover the greatest treasures of our art collection in an exhibition that invites you to think like a curator.

This interactive exhibition celebrates the treasures of the Wordsworth Grasmere trove. Discover grand landscapes by Constable and Turner, a hasty sketch by Dorothy Wordsworth, dramatic watercolours and rarely displayed objects that spark wonder, curiosity and affection.

We invite you to think like a curator: what makes something a treasure? Is it fame? Rarity? Talent? Emotion? Explore how art becomes meaningful and share what speaks to you most and why.
