Exploring deep time, lost human cultures and myth through film.
Emilija Škarnulytė creates immersive films and installations that blend documentary, imagination and myth. Using Cold War bases, decommissioned nuclear plants and deep-sea data hubs, she reimagines human artifacts as relics of a vanished culture. Adopting the form of a mermaid, she swims through abandoned submarine tunnels, hydroelectric plants and river habitats, linking scientific observation with myth.
Her work probes evolution, extinction and power structures, blurring the human, nonhuman and transcendental. Visitors encounter a visionary exploration of time, space and imagination, where history, legend and environmental reflection converge in striking cinematic and spatial experiences.
