Celebrating two great rivals of British art, 250 years after they were born.
Did you know? Two of Britain's most beloved painters were massive rivals – and they were only born one year apart. In their own right, JMW Turner and John Constable became prolific painters of landscapes, documenting the changing world around them. Despite their different approaches, this similarity in subject matter meant they had to fiercely compete for success in the art world.
To celebrate 250 years since their birth, this major exhibition dives into their interwoven lives and legacies through a new lens. Visitors will discover masterpieces alongside insight into their private lives through sketchbooks and personal items.
