Explore Central Asian myths, rituals and memory in this UK debut
Saodat Ismailova’s work spans film, sound, installation and sculpture, blending archival footage with striking imagery to explore the layered culture of post-Soviet Uzbekistan. Her pieces often focus on women protagonists and oral storytelling, examining knowledge systems disrupted by modernity and the impact of human activity on the environment.
Hovering between visible and invisible worlds, the works trace spiritual memory, loss and cultural transitions. This UK debut presents two decades of her practice, inviting visitors to reflect on thresholds, transmission and the interplay between personal and collective consciousness in a richly immersive, contemplative experience.
