Celebrating three decades of Black British youth culture through the lens of Jennie Baptiste.
Jennie Baptiste captures the sound, style and spirit of Black British communities from the 1990s to today. Spanning three decades, the exhibition presents iconic portraits and previously unseen works, documenting music, fashion and youth identity.
Highlights include portraits of Roots Manuva, Estelle, Ms Dynamite and NAS, as well as street scenes from Brixton, and the return of Baptiste’s seminal Revolutions @33 1/3 rpm series. Conceptual works such as Black Chains of Icon explore identity and resilience. Immersive and vibrant, the exhibition celebrates cultural influence alongside a soundtrack, talks and community responses.
