Ketty La Rocca’s urgent visual language comes to UK audiences for the first time.
This UK debut showcases the powerful, multidisciplinary work of Ketty La Rocca (1938–1976). A key yet overlooked figure in Italian avant-garde art, La Rocca explored identity, desire and gender politics through poetic image-text collages, photography and performance.
Her raw, direct works often echo personal isolation while speaking to broader social critique, including the effects of advertising. Though her career was cut short, her voice remains strikingly contemporary; resonant with today’s feminist strategies while rooted in a deeply individual and emotional visual language.
