Land art reimagined through ephemerality, narrative and environmental unease
Drawing from the Leeds Sculpture Collections, this exhibition explores a distinctive strand of British land art, featuring works by Tacita Dean, Anya Gallaccio, Andy Goldsworthy, John Hilliard and David Nash. Through themes of transience, strangeness and process, the artists reshape our understanding of nature, questioning permanence and human impact.
Highlights include Dean’s audio work Trying to Find Spiral Jetty, Goldsworthy’s fragile leaf sculptures and Gallaccio’s decaying rose installation. Together, these works challenge American land art traditions, offering a quieter, conceptual response to landscape in the era of climate crisis.
