Paintings that capture the myth and memory of a vanished sacred space.
Leading contemporary artist Pablo Bronstein reimagines one of history’s most storied structures in a new body of work responding to Waddesdon Manor. Through intricate paintings on paper, Bronstein conjures a grand, imagined vision of the Temple of Solomon – a building both real and mythical, described in the Bible yet lost to history. His architectural drawings include cross-sections, floor plans, decorative details and imagined artefacts, blending scholarly research with theatrical invention.
Playful, provocative and richly detailed, the exhibition explores the enduring power of the Temple as an idea shaped by centuries of artistic, religious and political fascination.
