Leading contemporary artists create work with new artistic medium – seaweed ink
This summer, Art For Your Oceans, a landmark contemporary art exhibition at the intersection of art, science and marine ecology, will open at Hastings Contemporary.
The exhibition, which will be free to visit, will include specially commissioned works by leading international artists, shining a light on the potential of seaweed as an invaluable tool in the fight against climate change, and as a new artistic medium.
All exhibited works have been created using OCEAN INK®, the world’s first sustainable and fully biodegradable water-based ink, made from regeneratively farmed seaweed in Scotland.
The exhibition includes work by Andrew Cranston, Laura Footes, Laura Ford, Anya Gallaccio, Antony Gormley, Nick Goss, Mona Hatoum, Beatriz Morales, Daisy Parris, Emma Stibbon, Emma Talbot, and Caragh Thuring.
Art For Your Oceans is part of the flagship initiative of Art For Your World, devised and curated by Artwise Curators for WWF-UK.
