As communities evolve, so do the stories within them. Beverley-Jane Stewart captures these shifts.
As communities evolve, so do the stories within them. Beverley-Jane Stewart captures these shifts in the communal life of a city by taking synagogues as a starting point to trace the changes in the lives of the people around them.
Manchester Jewish Museum proudly presents three of Stewart’s series of paintings:
Synagogue Series: An intimate invitation into some of the UK’s most remarkable places of worship.
Jewish Visual Stories: A compelling chronicle of change within British Jewish communities.
Beyond the Ashes: A poignant exploration of destroyed synagogues across the Middle East and their enduring Sephardi connections.
The exhibition will be displayed from Thursday, 3 July and available as part of General Admission to the museum.
