Discover the vibrant history and symbolism of colour in the Royal Pavilion.
Taking place within the lavish interiors of Brighton’s Royal Pavilion, Colour is a new immersive experience where visitors can explore the history and meaning of colour.
Curated by colour historian Alexandra Loske, the display celebrates the Pavilion’s vivid aesthetic, from its rich wallpapers and patterned carpets to the astonishing domes and gilded interiors that made it a sensation in the 1820s. Designed by architect John Nash for George IV, the Pavilion drew on Indian and Chinese styles to create one of the most flamboyant royal residences in Europe.
