Discover architectural visions of cityscapes from the 18th and 19th century.
As Britain’s cities, towns and estates rapidly transformed during the 18th and early 19th centuries, architects drew inspiration from a diverse range of sources, including Ancient Greece and Rome, Egyptian monuments and buildings from the Far East.
Featuring extraordinary architectural drawings from the Sir John Soane’s Museum, Towering Dreams invites visitors to explore how architects of the time interpreted the world around them. The exhibition highlights both realised and imagined structures from Britain and beyond, showcasing the bold and often unconventional designs that shaped the built environment.
