Refurbishments

A multi-million-pound restoration programme is underway at our globally significant industrial heritage site to carry out crucial restoration work and reveal new spaces and perspectives for all visitors to enjoy, play and learn in.

This means that there is a lot of scaffolding and areas that may be closed, including the Power Hall and the 1830 Station and Warehouse, but there is still plenty to enjoy on your visit, from permanent galleries to temporary exhibitions and holiday activities.
