Hilma Af Klint & Piet Mondrian: Forms of Life
This major exhibition aligns the work of two of the most imaginative artists of the 20th century, Swedish painter Hilma af Klint and Dutch abstract artist Piet Mondrian.
Despite never having met, Mondrian and Klint had a shared interest in the natural world. Having both started out as landscape painters, almost simultaneously, they each developed a new way of exploring ideas of spirituality, scientific discovery and philosophy through abstract art, using vibrant signs, shapes and colours.
Featuring around 250 works, including paintings, drawings and archival materials from both artists, this exhibition will be the largest presentation of Hilma af Klint’s work in the UK to date.
