Giorgio Morandi: Masterpieces from the Magnani-Rocca Foundation
This major exhibition surveys Giorgio Morandi, one of the most beloved figures of modern Italian art, famous for still lifes of simple subjects that were distinctive due to a delicate treatment of light and tonal subtleties.
The exhibition marks the 25th anniversary of the Estorick Collection and includes over 50 paintings and works on paper, on display in the UK for the first time.
On loan from the Magnani-Rocca Foundation, the unique collection includes rare pieces including a self portrait of Morandi, a metaphysical composition and a collection of etchings given to Morandi’s patron and close friend Luis Magnani.
