Yayoi Kusama: Infinity Mirror Rooms

Tate Modern, London
29 March 2021 - 11 June 2023

Beautiful, dazzling, and completely immersive – step into Yayoi Kusama’s world of infinite space.

Yayoi Kusama’s iconic Infinity Mirror Rooms explore the notion of infinite reflections, in a rare opportunity to see the work of this unique Japanese artist.

Featuring two spectacular spaces: Infinity Mirrored Room – Filled with the Brilliance of Life, which is one of Yayoi Kusama’s largest ever installations; and Chandelier of Grief, a room filled with the illusion of never-ending crystal chandeliers.

In addition to the spaces there are also a selection of photographs on display to put Yayoi Kusama’s work into context and explore how her mirrored rooms became the global sensation they are today.

Known for working across mediums including installation, sculpture, film, painting, fashion design and even writing, Yayoi Kusama’s eclectic approach to making art and her iconic happenings in New York in the 1960s are what gained the artist international acclaim.
