About the Workshop

This one-day workshop will teach you the basic skills and techniques required to make a one-colour lino print.

Working from

  • your own chosen image

  • selecting one provided by the tutor

  • taking inspiration from the beautiful museum garden

You will learn how to

  • transfer your design onto lino

  • use cutting tools safely and experimentally to make a range of marks

  • ink your plate, register and print with and without a press.

We will also develop single colour prints by printing onto a coloured background and explore collage and masking techniques.

At the end of the workshop, you will have made an edition of prints, both monochrome and colour which you can frame or turn into cards and have the skills to continue to develop your printmaking at home.
