Join us for a special evening celebrating the poetry and words of international poet Grace Nichols.
Based on a Trinidadian cultural institution, Liming mashes up poetry and spoken word with a carnival vibe and encourages going with the flow and socialising.
Co-hosted by Melanie Abrahams and Kamisha Hawkins, the evening will include local sensations Imani Ahiro and Ashanti Wenham and more, and is brought to you through a collaboration between Renaissance One and Word!
Acclaimed Guyanese poet Grace Nichols is considered by many as a literary national treasure, as one of the poets widely studied on the GCSE syllabus and the author of many books for adults and children. She has published adult poetry collections including the ever popular ‘The Fat Black Woman’s Poems’ and ‘I is a Long-Memoried Woman’ which won the 1983 Commonwealth Poetry Prize as well as many books for children.
