Discover the extraordinary lives of former Foundling Hospital pupils and the Museum's work to record them.

Join us for a talk with Foundling Museum Collections Manager Alison Duke, diving into the experiences of children, cared for by the Foundling Hospital, through their own words and voices. Foundling Voices was the Museum’s oral history project which recorded the life stories of 76 former pupils who were at the Foundling Hospital between 1912 and 1954. Their stories mirror the pattern of care established by the early Governors in 1739 and give insights into the broader experience of foundling children.

This talk will present audio extracts from the oral history project alongside family and archival photographs highlighting the deeply personal and moving individual stories of ordinary people going through extraordinary experiences.
