Workshop

Dales Knitting Workshop

12 June 2026
10:30am - 3:30pm
£50

For knitters, textile enthusiasts and Dales fans, this study day is led by knitting writer and researcher Dr Angharad Thomas.

Knitting was a key part of making a living in the Yorkshire Dales. This workshop is an opportunity to learn more about how it was done and what was knitted from thick socks to intricately patterned gloves.

The workshop gives you the chance to learn to knit in the Dales way using a traditional knitting stick with double pointed needles.

You should be able to knit at a basic level of skill using any type of needle.
