Discover the art of traditional plaster carving in this introductory workshop for young people.
Tutored by Mariam Ashraf, in this hands on workshop participants will learn the basics of plaster carving by tracing simple designs with large, clear lines, exploring their creativity and developing their manual skills.
Mariam will introduce them to plaster craft, a traditional architectural craft which can be found in Leighton House. Designs will be inspired by natural elements like flowers and trees. Pre-poured plaster tiles will be used to make the process easier and allow participants to focus on tool use and carving. All materials provided.
