Step into the weird and magical world of mushrooms at Fungi Town, Hay-on-Wye, 3-5 October 2025
This autumn, Hay-on-Wye becomes ‘Fungi Town’, the UK’s first urban festival dedicated to mushrooms, toadstools, lichens, moulds and yeasts. This family-friendly event will take place on 3-5 October, to mark UK Fungus Day, and promises a joyful, curious, and creative celebration of all things fungal.
Expect talks, films, workshops, food, art, exhibitions and hands-on experiences led by leading scientists, growers, artists, and fungi-lovers. With Hay Castle at the heart of the action, and pop-ups happening in shops and venues all across town, Fungi Town is a full-scale fungal takeover like no other.
Whether you're a seasoned mycophile or just mushroom-curious, Fungi Town is a chance to celebrate the beauty, science and culture of fungi. For more details visit www.fungitown.org.uk and follow @fungitownhay on Instagram for updates.
