Arm Knitted Blanket Workshop at Blackwell

Craft a luxury blanket in a historic house in Windermere.

Join textile artist Louise (also known as Darcy Badger Designs) for a mindful and creative arm knitting workshop in the heart of the Lake District. This hands-on session takes place inside Blackwell – the Arts & Crafts house, a rare example of early 20th-century Arts & Crafts design and craftsmanship.

In just two hours, you will learn how to use your arms to knit a luxurious, oversized blanket using Woolly Mahoosive yarn.

This workshop is suitable for everyone, whether you are an experienced knitter, a complete beginner, or somewhere in in between. Your finished blanket will measure approximately 150cm by 90cm, and the process is designed to be calming, accessible, and creative.

The session takes place in the Guild Room, a space designed by architect Mackay Hugh Baillie Scott. Your ticket also includes full-day access to Blackwell’s house and gardens, as well as refreshments and a homemade traybake from the Tea Room.

Places are limited to just 10 participants, ensuring an intimate crafting experience. All materials are provided, and participants can upgrade their ticket to an Annual Pass on the day for as little as £4.
