Family Fun: Minibeasts and the garden

20 September 2025
11am-12:30pm and 2:30pm-4pm
£5

Exploring the Leighton House garden minibeasts, their habitats and how we can help provide places for them.

In this workshop children will be exploring the Leighton House garden to see what minibeasts are living there, their habitats and how we can help provide places for them to live back at our own homes. Children will carry out activities using a range of science equipment to look at and examine what they find and to take measurements of the habitats. They will play some games focussed on learning more about living things that live locally.

Useful Information

  • The Family Fun workshops are designed for primary school children, age 5-10 years old.

  • Children must be accompanied by an adult during the workshop - workshops are not drop-off and the accompanying adult must stay with their child.

  • To avoid disappointment, please do not book tickets for children / siblings under 5, as they will not be able to participate. Additional family members accompanying younger siblings are welcome to enjoy our café and garden during the workshop.

  • The workshops will take place in the Leighton House Learning Centre and / or the garden and they might include access to the historic house.

  • Accompanying adults (1x per child) come for free and admission to the historic house is included in the ticket price.
