Discover the healing properties of a number of summertime herbs in the beautiful garden at the Brunel Museum. The Brunel Museum is excited to be woroking with Nat Mady from Hackney Herbal for a workshop as part of our Summer of Sustainability. We’ll introduce you to a number of culinary, wild and medicinal plants and how they can be used for health and wellbeing. We will talk you through the health benefits of a number of herbs with a focus on plants at their seasonal best.
We will then show you how to make your own herbal vinegar remedy. This can be taken as a daily tonic, enjoyed in cooking or used as a specific remedy. You’ll get to pick your own selection of herbs from the garden and make a jar of tonic to take home.
The session will cover:
The health benefits, properties and histories of a mix of common and lesser known herbs
An introduction to a range of edible and medicinal plants
How to harvest herbs at their seasonal best
