A one day masterclass in the age-old craft of letterpress.
The Workshop
During this fast-paced, letterpress poster printing workshop you will be getting hands-on and inky with the age-old craft of letterpress. This jam-packed workshop will cover all the basic information about how to set up printing presses, how to handle type, different inking techniques and effects and the fundamentals of design and composition with wood type, and of course, how to pull a print.
For the day you will have access to Ditchling Museum of Art + Craft’s collection of antique wood type and pull your own designs on a vintage Farley proofing press. You will create custom letterpress posters that are yours to take home at the end of the day.

Tom Boulton studied typographic design at the London College of Printing then became a self-taught letterpress printer.
