Explore the art of wire sculpture in an inspiring setting, surrounded by creativity and culture.
Immerse yourself in creativity at Petersfield Museum & Art Gallery, a unique venue where history and contemporary art come together.
This hands-on workshop invites you to explore the art of wire sculpture in an inspiring setting, surrounded by creativity and culture.Taking inspiration from the bold, expressive line work of Michael Craig-Martin, participants will begin with a series of colourful drawing exercises, observing everyday objects. These drawings will then become the foundation for translating lines into 3D wire sculptures.
Guided by artist Jacky Oliver, you'll experiment with a range of materials, including steel, aluminium, brass, and copper, discovering how different metals behave and how to manipulate them into sculptural forms. Various approaches will be introduced to help bring your drawings to life in three dimensions.
