A parade of puppets made by local schools, live music, storytelling, and STEAM fun celebrating sustainability and creativity!
Join us on Saturday 7th June from 12.30pm to 3.00pm at Lunderston Bay for a spectacular celebration of creativity, community, and climate action! ‘Message in a Bottle’ is a vibrant beach puppet parade created by The Watt Institution in collaboration with pupils from Inverkip, Moorfoot and St John’s Primary Schools. Featuring incredible puppets, a bottlenose dolphin, black-headed gull, and Norway lobster, brought to life using 3D-printed parts made from recycled plastic bottles collected from local beaches.
This exciting event launches this year’s Inverclyde STEM Festival and kicks off #GreatBigGreenWeek with a bang! Alongside the parade, enjoy interactive storytelling, live music, hands-on family activities, and STEAM-themed stalls exploring science, technology, and sustainability in fun and engaging ways.
‘Message in a Bottle’ is part of The Herds, an international public art and climate action project supported by Art Fund, uniting over one hundred recycled animal puppets from across the globe to raise environmental awareness.
