Explore different aspects of the artworks on display, including insights into both of the collectors.
Join Hannah Lund, Curator for Exhibitions and Displays, for a tour of the exhibition Victorian Treasures from Cecil French and Scott Thomas Buckle . The tour will encompass both the The Verey Exhibition Gallery and The Tavolozza Drawings Gallery , and will explore different aspects of the artworks on display, including insights into both of the collectors.
Collecting some 70 years apart, Cecil French (1879-1953) and Scott Thomas Buckle both began acquiring Victorian art against the grain of fashionable taste. Both collections reflect their personal perspectives and interests, and this exhibition will offer visitors an up-close look at the act and process of art collecting.
