The story of the waterways and the Land Girls who worked them in wartime.
Most have heard of the Land Girls who stepped in to work on farms during World War 2; lesser known are the Idle Women who were trained to operate the narrowboats. This is their story, that of working the boats of the Grand Union Canal.
The ticket price includes a tea or coffee and fish and chip supper.
This presentation will take place at The Cottage, Apsley Mill, Stationers Place, Apsley HP3 9RL. NOT FROGMORE MILL. Please be aware that there is one flight of stairs and no lift, to the Tudor Room.
