Join Claudia Kennaugh from Art & People as she breaks down how to articulate your artistic practice and present yourself in a way that feels authentic to your values and what drives you as an artist.
The more we know about something, the easier it is to talk about. As artists, our understanding of our own artistic practices and the deep ‘knowing’ this entails often feels so innate and subconscious that we’re not really sure how to begin articulating it to other people.
This session will give words to those instinctive expressions, equipping you with the tools to present your artistic practice and work in a way that feels genuine, compelling, and invites folks to enquire and dive deeper.
This workshop will be interactive and feature a mixture of tutorial, individual exercises, and optional role play, exploring how to:
Identify your intentions for your work
Name the values, themes, and inspirations that drive you as an artist
Build a ‘library of conversation’ responding to the different contexts where you might have to talk about yourself and your work as an artist
Adapt the focus of what to share in different scenarios to enable you to shine
Craft a ‘backpocket introduction’ that enables you to situate yourself in a conversation confidently and clearly
