FREE family-friendly behind-the-scenes tours of our archives and local studies stores at 1.30pm and 3pm
FREE family-friendly behind-the-scenes tours of our archives and local studies stores at 1.30pm and 3pm with a focus on the development of Cumbernauld New Town.
North Lanarkshire Heritage Centre is a 1996 purpose-built design by architects Andrew Merrylees, Grierson and Robertson. This year we are celebrating the European Heritage Days’ theme of Heritage of Routes, Networks and Connections. We invite you to explore this theme in our archives records where we focus on the development of Cumbernauld New Town, built to house Glasgow’s “overspill” population during our free behind-the-scenes tours.
In addition there will be arts & crafts (cress pot insects, £2) 12.30-2.30pm and a Bookbug session at 3pm.
