Learn how to create, carve and print linocut blocks during this weekend workshop, taking inspiration from the Chatsworth Garden.
Join us for a two-day workshop where you'll explore the world of botanical lino printing and create your own concertina book of prints. Under expert guidance, you’ll learn the intricate process of creating, carving, and printing your own plates, using flowers from the Chatsworth cutting garden as your inspiration.
During this workshop, you'll have access to the Chatsworth cutting garden, where you'll handpick flowers to serve as inspiration for your designs.
Learn essential techniques including drawing, design principles, lino preparation, safe handling of carving tools, mark making, transferring designs onto lino, and various printing methods.
You'll have the opportunity to exchange prints with fellow artists and assemble your creations into a bespoke concertina book.
Some time will be spent in the cutting garden collecting flowers. Please wear weather appropriate clothing, long trousers and suitable footwear.
No prior experience is necessary as our tutor will guide you through each step of the process. Suitable for ages 18 and above.
Each day includes complimentary access to the Chatsworth garden, refreshments and a delicious locally sourced graze box lunch from the Chatsworth Farm Shop.
