Professor Darren Oldridge explores politics in the seventeenth century.
England was “boiling hot with questions” about politics in the middle of the seventeenth century: about monarchy and democracy, religious liberty, and the basis of legitimate government.
In this talk Professor Darren Oldridge of the University of Worcester explores the political opinions that swirled through this turbulent period. The audience can turn the pages of books printed at the time and read these competing ideas for themselves.
If you’d like to explore the rest of The Commandery, you can purchase half-price day admission (£4.50, usually £9) from the shop on the day of the talk.
