Half Term Workshop: Nature Cyanotypes

31 May 2024
11am-1pm and 2pm-4pm

Explore the world of photography in this practical family workshop.

Artist Elizabeth Doak will take you on a journey inspired by our current exhibition by Polly Braden: Leaving Ukraine. Using the Victorian photographic cyanotype process, we will make a journey into the park to find natural treasures with which to make a beautiful blue image. If you see a feather on your way to the workshop why not pick it up and bring it with you.

At the end of the session you'll be free to take your masterpiece home to show it off to your friends and family.

What’s included with my ticket?

Led by a professional artist with all materials provided, all you have to do is bring yourselves! Tickets also include free entry to the Museum so you can explore at your leisure.

About Elizabeth Doak

Elizabeth Doak is an Eastbourne-based photographic artist and artist educator. She has over 25 years of teaching experience, working with the National Portrait Gallery, V&A, Towner Gallery, Brighton-based organisations Photoworks and Corridor, and with schools and communities in London and the South East. The work she makes is formed from research that is gathered on foot, through conversations and the written word. This creates a layered historical, grounded and personal context that is used as a basis for storytelling, with themes centred around belonging, place, mapping, memory, and community, especially in the context of the home and heritage. She works with range of digital, analogue and alternative photographic methods to create ‘portraits’ in a wide field of interpretation.
