You will learn how to make at least four different brushes using arenga, tampico and broomcorn fibres. You can experiment with using different colours of hemp and nylon cord for binding and will be shown how to tie different styles of brush, such as the turkey wing or hawk tail designs. We will also discuss the history of brush making and the types of fibre that we will use.
Please note that brush making is surprisingly physical, so you will need a reasonable amount of dexterity in your hands and feet. You might like to bring some warm socks to wear as we will be working with our shoes off!
