This two day workshop offers a comprehensive introduction to the ancient skill of stone carving.
Participants will be taught chisel techniques, as well as the methods of carving in incised forms and in relief using a flat piece of soft bath stone or Portland limestone. You may prepare a design beforehand to bring along on paper create it on the day.
Alyosha will lead participants through the process of carving their design, including the creation of simple letterforms on their stone. Each participant will be given a set of tools to use on the day and will also be provided with a piece of stone. Lunch will be provided on both days.
