Experience one of the most famous ghost stories of all time from great Victorian novelist Charles Dickens. A tale of revenants and redemption, hauntings and humbug, seasonal spooks and sentiment, see A Christmas Carol brought to life at the Coffin Works Museum this December!

Award-winning actor and writer Jonathan Goodwin stars as Dickens in this immersive one-man performance, co-directed by Goodwin and Gary Archer.

This performance will be held in the atmospheric Newman Brothers' Victorian Warehouse, one of our heritage spaces. We'll have the heaters on, but please wrap up warm to make yourselves as comofrtable as possible.

Show starts at 6.30pm with a 15-minute interval at 7.15pm. Performance will begin again at 7.30pm and finish at approximately 8pm.

Doors open from 6pm and there is a bar on site. Drinks must be consumed before entering the performance space.

Ticket prices £17.50 per adult.

Opening times

Self-guided tours (with a 50% discount for National Art Pass holders) are available Friday - Sunday 12-3pm.

Guided Tours (charged separately) are available on Thursdays at 11am, 12pm, 1pm and 2pm, and Friday - Sunday at 11am only.

 

Exclusions and safety measures

The Coffin Works is now open on Thursdays for guided tours at 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 2pm.

To visit the museum on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, we have a guided tour at 11am and then self-guided entry every half hour from 12pm-4pm (last entry 3pm).

With your self-guided entry ticket, you will receive a booklet guide and access to a mobile tour to help you round the building, as well as our fantastic volunteer Room Enablers in each room to answer any questions and help you engage with the building's unique history. You'll also see the historic machinery in action.

 

National Art Pass holders receive a 50% discount on self-guided entry (excluding guided tours). We look forward to welcoming you soon.
