Free Guided Tours for April - June
Belgrave Hall is a historic house, providing an oasis of peace and quiet in a hectic city.
The hall was built in the early 18th century in what was then a small village three miles from the town of Leicester. Our free guided tours are for those who want to discover more about the history of the Hall and the Gardens.
The hall has had several owners over the years, and three specific families have played a major role in Leicester's history as well as the history of the hall and gardens.
Edmund Cradock, a hosiery merchant, built Belgrave Hall but died soon after its completion, and, John Ellis – a wealthy businessman was responsible for bringing the railways to Leicester. The Ellis Sisters were the last family to live in the Hall.
