Help us build a space for community and creativity
THANK YOU! You've helped us raise an incredible £32,608 to build creative spaces for all as part of our ground floor redevelopment.
Thanks to the generosity of an individual donor, your donations will be match funded up to £30,000, meaning that in total you've helped us raise £62,608. Thank you for helping create an amazing hub for creativity and community, right here in Oxford.
We’re building a space for community and creativity. As one of the UK’s leading contemporary art galleries, we’ve been presenting a bold artistic programme since 1965. We feature critically acclaimed artists alongside emerging talent, placing them in conversation with audiences and offering transformative creative experiences to all our communities. But our building has been stretched to its limits and the Victorian infrastructure cannot meet demand. We need to raise £25,000 to ensure our new ground and lower-ground floors are accessible, engaging, and inspiring spaces for all. Thanks to a generous individual donor, every pound we raise will be matchfunded, doubling the impact of your donation.

Over 12 weeks, during summer 2024, we’ll be creating a new fit-for-purpose environment in which to showcase the work of our communities, encourage creative play, and invite reflection and debate.
Your donations will ensure that all visitors have the opportunity to engage with visual art. A dedicated studio space will host sensory play for infants, provide year-round creative inspiration to families, and help young people to come together, make, explore and flourish. A new gallery will host temporary exhibitions celebrating Oxford’s creative community and a refurbished entrance will house screens for innovative, interactive digital commissions alongside displays of archival material, which has never been on public display before. A new cafe, designed by acclaimed British artist Emma Hart, will enrich the visitor experience with an immersive venue where we can gather and share ideas.
Modern Art Oxford will be a more sustainable organisation, a safe space for experimentation, and an inclusive place for everybody to enjoy.

Help us to raise £25,000 today. Together we can build a space for community and creativity - for today and for the future.

Thank you so much for your generous donations
You're the first to hear about our programme of exhibitions in the new Ground Floor gallery.
When this exciting space opens to the public, we'll be showcasing the work of Farwa Moledina.
A Muslim artist with Yemeni-Tanzanian roots, Moledina was raised in Dubai and now lives in Birmingham. Her focus lies in fostering nuanced discussions about faith, Islamic traditions, and the portrayal of Muslim women in contemporary art. In our new gallery, we'll be displaying new artworks, produced in collaboration with the Date Palm Tree Group, from the Bullingdon Community Centre.
