Young photographers take inspiration from an iconic Rembrandt self-portrait
Brighton Museum will hold one of 12 simultaneous exhibitions across the UK marking the National Gallery’s 200th year anniversary. In Brighton, visitors will see one of Rembrandt’s famed self-portraits alongside a display of photographic works by a group of young people, putting art history into conversation with contemporary perspectives on portraiture.
In a collaboration between Brighton & Hove Museums and Photoworks, the young people were invited to express how they would like to be seen by their peers when they turn 34, the same age Rembrandt is in his painting.
