The Museum is now closed until 2020 for redevelopment.

Constructed in 1850, the mill finally ceased textile production in 1982 and is now incorporated into the vibrant Shires Shopping Centre. Trowbridge Museum is uniquely placed to tell the story of the enterprise and industriousness of the men and women whose labours made the town the 'Manchester of the West', centre of West Country woollen cloth production.
