The Minton Archive was acquired with help from the Art Fund in 2015. It is a unique record of the firm of Minton's Ltd, which was founded in 1793 by Thomas Minton and operated until the 1990s, and includes hundreds of thousands of items – original designs, drawings and pattern books – covering more than two centuries of groundbreaking pottery design, manufacture and production. Among the many celebrated artists and designers who feature in the Archive are Augustus Pugin, Christopher Dresser, Thomas Allen, John Bell and Marc-Louis Solon.
