Historically important cliff-top museum housed in a Grade II Listed Victorian house with an internationally renowned art collection.
The museum was built for Sir Merton and Lady Russell-Cotes in 1901. The building and its contents were gifted to the people of Bournemouth in 1908 and new art galleries were added. The Russell-Cotes collection is especially strong in European and Japanese arts and a number of its works are regularly on loan at galleries around the world.
