Montrose Museum and Art Gallery is temporarily closed until further notice. Please check the venue's website for the latest details.
Dating from 1841, this charming Neoclassical building was one of the first purpose-built museums in Scotland.
Visitors can discover life in Montrose, from the wildlife of the surrounding area to the history of the town and its people. The museum also houses an art gallery with a lively programme of exhibitions drawn from its collection of paintings and sculpture by local artists such as William Lamb, Edward Baird and George Paul Chalmers.
